New York To Midwest (12", W/Lbl). Analog Records USA. ANALOG 7.
No New York is a compilation album released in 1978 by record label Antilles under the curation of producer Brian Eno. Although it only contained songs by four different artists, it is considered by many to be the definitive single album documenting New York City's late-1970s no wave movement. Early in 1978, New York's Artists' Space hosted an underground rock festival with several local bands.

Soul Jazz provided the even more extensive (and less disco-flavored) New York Noise, 1979-1982 and last year No More Records' popped-up to offer the definitive 32-track DNA on DNA, which includes all of the DNA tracks from No New York. Ditto for Mars' The Complete Studio Recordings: NYC 1977-1978, out on G3G/Spooky Sound in 2003. Saint Louis Zoo. 1 Government Dr. St. Louis, MO. Of all the family-friendly attractions on our list, there are none that are as crowd-pleasing as a zoo. So, of course, the St. Louis zoo has to be on our list as one of the best zoos in the Midwest. This attraction has no entry fee and features more than 20,000 animals on site. Children will love seeing the animals in their natural habitats and learning about the different. American Girl Place in Chicago, IL. 609 5th Ave. New York, NY. The American Girl Place in Chicago is the perfect stop for children, especially young girls, but make no mistake; there is enough to see and do to keep everybody happy.
New York State would proudly boast of the Midwest as its "inland empire;" thus, New York would become known as the Empire State. Because the Northwest Ordinance region was the first large region of the United States to prohibit slavery (the Northeastern United States only emancipated slaves in the 1830s), the region remains proud of its free pioneer heritage. German, Scandinavian, Slavic, and African-American immigration into the Midwest continued to bolster the population there in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Generally the Midwest remains a predominantly Protestant region.
